Fishing Rules
Please read our fishing rules before you start. They help ensure an enjoyable fishing experience while protecting the fish in our lakes.
Important Fishing Rules
These rules apply to regular trout fishing.
One Fishing Rod
Each trout fishing permit allows the use of one fishing rod.
Never Leave Your Rod Unattended
A fishing rod in use must never be left unattended.
Fishing Permits Are Personal
Visitors without their own fishing permit are not allowed to fish.
One Hook per Rod
Only one hook may be used per fishing rod.
Fish Must Take the Bait
Fish must take the bait themselves. Snagging or foul-hooking fish in the side or back is not permitted.
Landing Nets Only for Landing Fish
Fish may not be caught directly with a net. A landing net may only be used to land a fish caught on a fishing rod.
No Groundbaiting
Groundbaiting is not permitted.
Catch Limits
Trout catch limits depend on the fishing permit purchased.
Once you have reached your catch limit, you may continue fishing, but all additional fish must be carefully released. You may no longer use PowerBait or worms after reaching your limit.

Important Sturgeon Fishing Rules
These rules protect our sturgeon. Please read them carefully before fishing.
If a sturgeon is lifted out of the water, a weighing sling must be used. Landing nets, bags or similar equipment are not permitted for lifting.
When unhooking a sturgeon on land, it must be placed on an unhooking mat.
A sturgeon must never be lifted by its gills. Breaking this rule will result in immediate removal from the premises.
You must kneel when holding a sturgeon. Standing while holding the fish is prohibited. Breaking this rule will result in immediate removal from the premises.
All sturgeon fishing at Ørsted Outdoor is strictly Catch & Release.
Thank you for respecting these rules and handling our sturgeon with care.
Tackle, Handling & Releasing
Using the correct equipment and handling fish carefully is essential for their welfare.
No Groundbaiting
Groundbaiting is not permitted.
Hooks
Only barbless single hooks in sizes 1/0–4/0 or carp hooks in sizes 2–6 may be used.
Leader
To protect the fish's body and fins, a 1.5-metre leader made from fluorocarbon, nylon or leadcore in combination is required: 25–40 lb or 0.35–0.60 mm. Braided line must not be used as a leader, as it can injure the fish.
Fishing Tackle
Sturgeon are very powerful fish. We recommend strong tackle suitable for large fish. Please ask in our fishing shop if you need advice.
Unhooking
If a sturgeon needs to be lifted from the water, position the weighing sling underneath the fish while it is still in the water, supporting its entire body. The fish must be unhooked on an unhooking mat or on the grass. Unhooking mats can be borrowed from the shop.
Photographs
Photographs with a sturgeon may only be taken while kneeling over an unhooking mat.
Releasing Sturgeon
After a long fight, a sturgeon may be exhausted and remain still in the water for up to 15–20 minutes. This can be normal.
No Sturgeon Roe
All sturgeon in our lake are male and therefore do not produce roe.
Please Handle Our Sturgeon with Care
Sturgeon grow very slowly and can live for up to 100 years.
Please treat them with respect and care.
